Phoenix Tree

Funny, it is already March and it is still VERY VERY cold in Shanghai.

I am never one to bother about plants and trees, flowers and bees. (Come to think of it, birds and bees are not that bad after all *wink)
BUT I realized that my future mother-in-law loves them. So, me went hunting and look what I found on one of my idyllic walks around town?

梧桐树 Phoenix Tree

Isn't it interesting to see such barks? There is a Chinese saying "栽好梧桐树 自有凤凰来". Literal translation = plant good Phoenix Tree well, phoenix (aka good luck) will come.

I wonder if taking pics of a good one will help.
